To mark the 70th anniversary in 2009 of the most devastating war of all times, France 2 and CC&C present APOCALYPSE, a landmark series on World War II, for the first time in HD, color and 5.1 Dolby sound, using exclusively archive footage, 50% of which are unseen.

The six episodes of APOCALYPSE tell the story in a most original and never before seen way: combining the major historical events throughout the world with the point of view of the ordinary people, always remaining the closest to those, great and small, who lived or died through it, APOCALYPSE provides a truly global perspective of the War.

In Love with Adolf Hitler

It was a strange affair, full of love, lust and despair…Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun, his mistress from 1932 to their double suicide in Hitler's Berlin bunker, a fateful day of April 1945.

For the first time, this extraordinary film shows Hitler in his private life, as seen through the eyes - and the camera lens - of Eva Braun, who recorded this making-of (in color!) with her own 16mm camera. It is indeed the first attempt to identify and comment the complete Eva Braun footage and thus to give a thorough account of Hitler’s intimate life.

The Alto Runway

This film makes us relive, thanks to the unknown rushes of the big American director William Wyler, an important period of the history of Corsica during the Second World War.

 The base of Alto, near Bastia, welcomed in 1944 at the same moment a group of fighters - bombers of U.S Air Force (the 57th Fighter Group) and the famous Lafayette French group of hunting.

Day after day, the young pilots of these two units, unstuck from the runway of Alto on their P 47 Thunderbolt to attack, to bombard the German troops which, in Italy, had stopped the advance of the Allies at Monte Cassino and participated in the landing of Provence in August, 1944.
